Planting Design

Planting Plans

This service can be stand alone if you are wanting to redesign or freshen up existing borders in your garden or follow on from the full design service once the Master Layout Plan has been approved.

As with Garden Design, the first stage of doing a Planting Plan is meeting with you to discuss your requirements and performing an analysis of the site. Followed by sharing a collection of images which summarise the feel of the planting, the types of plants and overall look that is to be achieved. Creating the planting plan is both a creative and technical process, requiring careful consideration of colour, shape, texture, seasonality, aspect, soil type, the level of maintenance, plant companions and suitable combinations.

The final planting plan is a scaled drawing specifying all the plants, the size of the plants and how many of each are required. I can supply plants at competitive rates from high quality, reputable sources giving your borders the best possible chance of being sensational!

Maintenance

Helping plants to establish and maintaining them there after is so important in ensuring that they can thrive and be enjoyed for years to come. I will come and check the general health of the borders around 3 months after planting to follow up on how they are settling in. I can provide maintenance schedules and advice for planting plans for you to follow in order to ensure the best possible outcome for your new plants and as gardens are not static, I also offer a regular maintenance service to ensure the planting looks great for years to come.

Planting Projects

A City Garden in Bathwick

The brief for this beautiful urban garden was to create a planting scheme that would give interest throughout the year behind existing shaped Box hedging. The colour palette was soft including whites, pale pinks and purples.
